چکیده

2014 We have established the existence of a characteristic energy (0.0013 eV) in undoped crystalline V2O5, by measuring, between 1.3 K and 50 K, the relaxation time of the paramagnetic defect detected at g = 2. In order to interpret this result, we have examined the different models which have been proposed in the past for this defect, and which all imply the existence of a V9+2 molecular ion; taking the recent arguments of Clauws et al. into account, we have finally adopted the model proposed by Perlstein. The energy 0394 cannot correspond to the splitting between the bonding and antibonding levels of V9+2, since a calculation indicates that the separation between these levels is 0.16 eV. In our interpretation, 0394 is the energy separation between the ground vibronic level and the first excited vibronic level of V9+2. J. Physique 44 (1983) 691-698 JUIN 1983, 1

Effects of Vibronic Dynamics of Cu(H2O)6 Complexes and Electron Spin Relaxation in Temperature Dependence of EPR Linewidth in Diamagnetic Tutton Salt Single Crystals

EPR linewidth of Cu in the Tutton salt crystals weakly depends on temperature at low temperatures and then it rapidly grows above 60 K. We present detailed results of measurements and analysis for Cu in K2Zn(SO4)2 · 6H2O, K2Zn(SO4)2 · 6D2O, (NH4)2Mg(SO4)2 · 6H2O and Cs2Zn(SO4)2 ·6H2O in a temperature range of 4.2–300 K and compare them with already published electron spin–lattice relaxation dat...

Electron Spin Relaxation of Cu(II) Ions in ZnGeF6·6H2O Crystal with Strong Jahn–Teller Effect

Cu ions doped to ZnGeF6 · 6H2O substitute the host Zn ions and undergo a strong Jahn–Teller effect producing nearly axial elongation of the Cu(H2O)6 octahedra with equal population of the three possible deformations at low temperatures as shown by the EPR spectra. Reorientations between these distorted configurations are observed as a continuous shift of EPR lines leading to averaging of the ga...

Electron spin-lattice relaxation in a true amorphous material : V4+ in V 2O5

2014 The electron spin-lattice relaxation time T1 of V4+ in amorphous V2O5 has been measured in the X-band between 1.4 K and 100 K : T1-1 = 39 T2 $$ ~056/T x dx sinh x We explain this behaviour using a process requiring one two-level system (T.L.S.) modulating the crystal field, and one phonon. The characteristic temperature 56 K must be associated not with the maximum energy of the T.L.S. but ...

Frequency Dispersion of the Proton Zeeman Spin-lattice Relaxation in the Smectic Phases of Tbba

Using a field cycling technique, the Larmor frequency (VL) dependence of the proton Zeeman spin-lattice relaxation time T I has been measured in the smectic A, smectic C, smectic B and smectic VII phases of terephtal-bis-butylaniline (TBBA) between VL = 90 MHz and V L = 0.14 MHz and a significant dispersion has been found. The observed c o i J 2 dispersion law in the smectic A phase and the dev...

Low-frequency spin dynamics in a canted antiferromagnet.

Resistively detected nuclear spin relaxation measurements in closely separated two-dimensional electron systems reveal strong low-frequency electron-spin fluctuations in the quantum Hall regime. As the temperature is decreased, the spin fluctuations, manifested by a sharp enhancement of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1, continue to grow down to the lowest temperature of 66 millikel...
